The perfect silhouette

"Underneath your clothes there’s a different story" the famous lyrics from shakira’s song is a phrase that most of us women should be able to relate to.   Every woman dreams of having the perfect silhouette for that killer dress, and as much as we are all unique in our own way, the honest truth is that not all of us are blessed with perfect bodies like super models Naomi Campbell and Gisele Bundchen to pull it off.  Getting that body would take a lot of hard work, the dieting and exercising which I am 100 percent sure that a lot of us find extremely hard and would rather  just ignore.  But not to worry where there is a will; there would always be a way….. (Drum roll)  Ladies shape wear has come to the rescue - Women everywhere bless the day the shape wear was invented.
Through the ages, from the early A.D.’s (notice the rhyme?) women have gone through a lot of extensive measures to diminish features to create the perfect silhouette. The first type of shape wear, the corset, came into existence in the Elizabethan era. The corset was a device used to flatten the chest and accentuate the waist. The corsets of the Victorian era placed more emphasis on the waste to create the illusion of the hips.  In the 1900’s  the corsets gave way  for the material latex which  was used to create girdles that put less emphasis on the waist and fits closely to the hips and derriere.    The girdle is an undergarment made of elastic that gives women that smooth silhouette.  Girdles today usually consist of one material alone or a combination of Lycra, Spandex, and Powernet, it comes in different type’s light, medium and strong compression; the strong compression types do more defining and contouring.
More inventions of the shape wear are in the market now, you can now find types that can make your boobs look bigger, create curves for a boyish figure, shape derriere even make it look bigger and shape legs and thighs. Most Hollywood stars if not all’s secret for looking red carpet hot are a result of good shape wear.    Yes!  Hollywood stars are just like the rest of us, not quite but you know what I mean they need some tucking and smoothing here and there too. Most of us wonder how stars get their figures back a month after having their babies, well the secret is now out and it is definitely a trend that is here to stay because every woman’s quest is to feel beautiful and look darn good.

The boyish figure was the  trend in the elizabethan era , the corsets/ shape wear were designed to flatten the chest and accentuate the waist with heavy compression fabric and materials

the corset/shape wear of the victorian era emphasised and favoured the female figure more than the previous model. it  gives a woman the "S" form with derriere out and bust out cinching the waist.

From the early 1930's till lighter fabrics such as lycra, spandex e.t.c where used to make shape wear

The waist cincher is the most universal of shapewears, it focuses on more than just one problem area.
The boyish figure:  women with boyish figures are very conscious about their straight frame  and  shy away from wearing  body fitting clothing.;the waist cincher  takes inches of your waist and creates that desired hour glass figure.

The belly:  the most common body problem which is so hard to get rid off several stressful gym sessions  take a darn long time for  visible  changes; the waist cincher gives you an instant tummy tuck and gives you that upright posture.
